How long does a tour of Disney Animation Studios at LA takes?

September 11, 2011 at 4:04 pm

Walt Disney Animation Studios is not open to the public and tours are not generally offered.

Tours of the main Walt Disney Studios lot were recently given as a part of the limited engagement screenings of The Princess and the Frog, but I believe these have ended.

Walt Disney Animation Studios returns to the Hundred Acre Wood with “Winnie the Pooh,” the first big-screen Pooh adventure from Disney Animation in more than 35 years. With the charm, wit and whimsy of the original featurettes, this all-new movie reunites audiences with the philosophical “bear of very little brain” and friends Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Kanga, Roo—and last, but certainly not least, Eeyore, who has lost his tail.

who competes with Disney in animation?

September 10, 2011 at 5:38 am

i know that universal competes with disney but i can’t really think of any others off the top of my head, plus isn’t like pixar and dream-works part of Disney?….so they wouldn’t be competitors…….so who else do they compete with?

please help me because i have a research paper i have to do on trying to prove how disney produces more effective animation than its competitors but that’s going to be hard if i don’t know who all of disney’s competitors are.

DreamWorks isn’t part of disney, or haven’t been, they just recently Feb, 09, entered a 30 picture distribution deal with The Walt Disney Company.
But Pixar is part of Disney.
What about Warner Brothers, NBC Universal, Sony Pictures, Fox Entertainment Group, and Paramount.
I don’t know what ones make animation movies, but those are some of the major film makers.
Heres a list of companies:

The Lion King Part 2/6

September 7, 2011 at 8:42 am

0 The Lion King Part 2/6The Lion King is a 1994 American animated feature film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation. Released to theaters on June 15, 1994 by Walt Disney Pictures,[2] it is the 32nd film in the Walt Disney Animated Classics. The story, which was influenced by the Bible stories of Joseph and Moses, the Epic of Sundiata, and the William Shakespeare play Hamlet, takes place in a kingdom of anthropomorphic lions in Africa.[4] The film was the highest grossing animated film of all time until the release of Finding Nemo (a 2003 Disney/Pixar computer-animated film). The Lion King is the sixth highest grossing animated film and continues to be the highest grossing hand drawn animation film in history[5] and belongs to an era known as the Disney Renaissance.[6]

The Lion King is the highest grossing 2D animated film of all time in the United States,[7] and received positive reviews from critics, who praised the film for its music and story and has been called one of the best films of all time. During its release in 1994, the film grossed more than $783 million worldwide, becoming the most successful film released that year, and it is currently the 35th highest-grossing feature film ever.

A musical film, The Lion King garnered two Academy Awards for its achievement in music and the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy. Songs were written by composer Elton John and lyricist Tim Rice, with an original score by Hans Zimmer.[8] Disney later produced two related movies: a sequel, The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride (1998); and a prequel/parallel, The Lion King 1½ (2004).

What cartoon movie reused animation from Disney’s ‘Bambi’?

September 5, 2011 at 1:13 pm

Quite a few times in Disney cartoons they have reused animations for more than one movie. I have not watched ‘Bambi’ in many years, but I think there is a scene in there during the forest fire where a burning tree falls. I think this animation of the tree falling was reused, it appears in another animated movie (though I’m not sure if it is burning in this one as well, or if it just falls over).

What was the other movie that used this tree falling animation?
