How do I contact Disney to ask about their affiliations oversea with questionable entities?

September 15, 2011 at 3:32 am

I recently saw some ads for Disney Live! performances oversea. Not a big deal, I know, but the problem is that the company that’s putting on the performance is a subsidiary of a major arms manufacturer that’s known for, among other things, the export of missiles and other weapons to questionable parts of the world.

Anyone know how to contact Disney to ask them about why they choose to do business with this kind of company? Only contact tool their website provides seem to be either for me to ask question about the site itself or investor relations for current stock holders.

You can contact their corporate headquarters.

Is it possible to get the Disney Dining Plan when you just stay at a Disney Resort?

September 14, 2011 at 2:30 am

Okay, here’s the deal. My family is trying to plan a vacation to Disney World and we’re using a military discount. However it costs extra to make the tickets into a hopper pass. What I’m wondering is if you can also get the dining plan using this discount if you are planning on staying at a Disney Resort. Does anyone know the answer to this?

Thanks!

Yes, it is possible to get the dining plan but without the park hopper, you have to make sure that you are going to the park you have reservations for dinner for. I would never go to disney without making dining reservations ahead of time. You’d never get to eat. Reservations can be made 90 days out.

What Disney song would be good to perform with a small monologue in the beginning?

September 12, 2011 at 8:51 pm

See, in my vocal class this year, we are focusing on stage techniques and trying to get our acting up to par with are singing and so, for my exam I am guessing we have to demonstrate what we learn through the year and apply it to our performance. Do you know any Disney songs I could perhaps perform with a monolouge in the beginning with a nice higher alto or mezzo soprano song?

Zippidee-do-dah starts with talking and requires a lot fo acting to really perform well…
There is also Snow white’s story of herself and the prince, but you would have to lower it down to sing it.
Or you could do something like "I can go the distance" that is a sort of speaking song

Or if you could do a duet you could do "Middle of the River" a song that was cut from poccahontas.

Look into disney stage versions of plays. A lot more of them have songs that begin speaking.
I think that Belle, Poccahantas, and Mulan are the singers with the lower voices, but I could be wrong.

What’s the difference between Disney’s Contemporary Resort and the Bay Lake Tower?

September 11, 2011 at 4:04 pm

So my friend and I have decided we are going to Disney World before hitting college, we have never been to Disney. We have already decided to stay at Disney’s Contemporary but do not know the difference between the contemporary building and the bay lake tower building. Is there a difference? We want to have the best and most memorable trip and was wondering which one you think we should stay at?

Thank You.

Yes, there is a big difference.

They are really both the same resort, the Contemporary resort. The Contemporary itself was one of the first WDW resorts, it was there when Disney World opened, and it still is today. It is a theme of modern contemporary styles and is a very enjoyable place to stay (I am staying there myself later this year). Disney’s Bay Lake Towers was just created over the past few years, and finished about a year ago. This new building is not open to everyone, but is for only Disney Vacation Club members.

Disney Vacation Club is like a time share, but has many more benefits. You buy into a home resort, such as mine of Old Key West, but now there are spots open at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Saratoga Springs and Bay Lake Towers. Most Disney Vacation Club resorts today have separate buildings for regular and DVC members to stay in, like the Bay Lake Towers/Contemporary resort.

In your case, you will have to stay at the main Contemporary building, since you are not a Disney Vacation Club Member. The stay is similar in both places, but I myself find that the Main building itself would be better, as you have the monorail right near by (it passes through the resort building). If you are looking for a great place to eat, I suggest the Wave right at the contemporary, which serves modern food and you will not leave hungry. The Contemporary is a great place to stay because it has great and easy access to both Magic Kingdom and Epcot by taking a monorail. I hope you have a magical and memorable vacation.

If you have any other questions about your Disney vacation, please feel free to contact me by email or message. Have a magical day!

How to make disney illusions and special effects?

September 10, 2011 at 5:38 am

I am looking forward to becoming an imagineer for Disney one day, specifically in the "illusioneering" department. Illusioneering is pretty much responsible for making all the special effects you see through out any Disney ride such as the pirates of te caribbean fire, space mountain star field, haunted mansion ghosts etc.. Does anyone know how I can do little projects or learn how to do and create special effects/illusions. Thank you any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get involved with some local community theater group. You can learn a LOT about stagecraft from the production of plays and events. Building props, lighting, special effects are all used in these productions. That’s the kind of experience the ride designers at Disney have. There is no "ready made" course for building a "standard" working volcano, or convincing building fires, earthquakes, rainstorms or animatronic figures. These have to be thought out, designed and built by people who learn all kinds of different associated crafts.

What disney channel movie had a girl who would eat the heads of her animal crackers off?

September 8, 2011 at 10:49 pm

It was a Disney movie I think, and it was placed on a movie set? I know there was a little blonde movie star girl that played sweet but was actually really mean. I remember a scene where she bit the heads of her animal crackers off but that’s about it. Anyone know?

If it was animated it’s probably Cats Don’t Dance. And I think it was a Warner Brothers movie

who agrees Walt Disney was an amazing person and no one will ever top how awesome he was?

September 7, 2011 at 3:00 pm

I seriously love him so much. He has shaped my whole childhood. I am so sick of people acting as if there are perverted things in his movies that’s just stupid. His whole being centered around making people happy. Disney World truly is the happiest place on Earth and I cannot wait to go in October. Walt Disney’s movies should be in every home.

Walt Disney supports gays and lesbians. I fully support anything Disney.
